Here we are at the start of the Bank Holiday weekend which means it is time to enjoy ourselves, rest and nourish our bodies and mind :)
Here is a reminder of August's positive affirmations -
I am strong
I am successful
I am in control
Our final positive affirmation is 'I can and I will' and this was definitely evident from those of you who came to both SMASH classes this week - they were pretty tough!
Throughout the month we have focused on our 4 separate affirmations a lot in class so this weekend we would like to set you a short exercise that should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete.
We want you to write down each affirmation and then add a reason as to why that affirmation applies to you. You can include as many reasons as you want!
Here is an example from both of us -
Sam - I am in control because, although moving house has been quite stressful these past couple of weeks, I have been able to focus on being mindful of the present moment and have used meditation to calm my mind and focus.
Ash - I can and I will run my first half marathon on 1st October because I am training and looking after my body with mindful care.
Try to do this with each affirmation, you may be surprised at how many responses come to mind! If you aren't able to write them down then try the exercise in your head whenever you get the opportunity, or just before bed :)
Remember there is no SMASH class this Bank Holiday Monday but we will be back next Friday and we will hopefully have some exciting news about the launch of an evening SMASH class, as well as a permanent SMASH spin class! We will also be launching the focus point for September...
