Today's challenge -
Give something back
So this may be a longer term goal, but today the challenge is to try and put some thought into a way you can give back. Some examples may be -
- Volunteering 1 day a week/fortnight/month for a local cause.
- Sending some old clothes/books to a charity close to your heart.
- Drop off some food to your local food bank or homeless shelter.
- Raising money for charity with an organised event (such as the Vitality 10k race which we will be doing in May https://www.vitalitylondon10000.co.uk/how-enter/online-entry/)
Over the years I've seen the amazing difference giving back can do. Having spent years volunteering with the Samaritans, and using them as my charity of choice for my many fundraisers after quitting alcohol (including mountain climbing, sky-diving and, of course, running!), I know how much of a positive effect doing something like this can have on your own life, as well as the people you are helping
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
