Good morning all and welcome to April
There is a big announcement coming but first lets introduce you to our monthly focus of Nutrition...
Nutrition is such a vast subject area and can mean a lot of different things to most people - as well as sometimes being a sensitive issue to discuss. A great example of how nutrition is different for each of us is the SMASH team - Ash has made the decision to become vegan this year and Sam has been getting on well with following a keto friendly diet (including a lot of dairy and eggs!).
With this in mind we wanted to ask - what does "nutrition" mean to you? What would you like us to focus/discuss/touch on in the upcoming emails? We write these emails for you so please email us with any suggestions or stories you would like to share. Let us know if you follow a particular diet or nutrition plan, what has or hasn't worked for you in the past or what frustrates you/motivates you about nutrition and the food industry as a whole. We will consider all of your emails and feedback when devising the emails this month, so please do help us make them the best and most informative they can be!
One of the changes you will have noticed this month is the new class booking system. All classes - including lunchtime SMASH classes must be booked online or via the CORE app. Our head office will be tracking how many people attend all classes and they will ultimately have the final say if any need to be cancelled or not... so booking on for every class is really essential and will ultimately help keep SMASH on the timetable! On to our big announcement...
On Saturday 14th April we will be launching SMASH Discovery!
We are so excited about this new version of SMASH and hope as many of you as possible will consider coming! SMASH has been everything we hoped it would become, and more, so now is the time to introduce the next part of the SMASH journey. To get a better understanding of mindfulness we have to spend a bit more time focusing on mental health, something we don't get to do as much of in a 30 or 45 minute class! SMASH Discovery will be a 90 minute session that will include a 5 minute positive affirmation based warm up, one of your favourite SMASH classes, a 10 minute mindfulness meditation and a 30 minute workshop that will always be based on strengthening mental health through fun and insightful group sessions We hope your first response is "I really need to be at that class!" but if you want to find out more information first, please talk to us in club or reach out via email or Instagram - we are always happy to chat! We hope this first class will lead to many more and that everyone who attends will leave feeling stronger - in body and mind! Trust us, it will be worth getting up early on Saturday morning for and will be the best start to your weekend!
SMASH Discovery - Saturday 14th April, 9am.
Cost - £5 per person (members and non members)
If you would like to register your interest in this class please email us and let us know if you have any friends or family members who wish to attend with you. This could be a great opportunity to bring your partner/Mum/best friend - whoever it is you are always saying should come to a SMASH class with you
We are very excited about this as it is the SMASH class we hoped we would be able to launch one day! In terms of having a class that works on your physical and mental wellbeing at the same time, we don't think there is anything out there like it. So be the first to try it and hopefully we will have many more to follow...
