Say yes to SMASHcamp...

Spring is on the way and there is much to be excited about for the rest of the year! Even if you aren't quite sure what that is yet - just know that there is... 

Towards the end of last year we launched the newest addition to SMASH London classes. When we sat down to discuss what this could be we settled on a Bootcamp style class and originally thought of it being a 'once every three months' event - The Ultimate Challenge! This was the class name when we launched it and we had many of you attend the first session - you smashed it! The feedback was awesome so we decided to make it a monthly session and changed the name - SMASHcamp was born!

What is SMASHcamp?

SMASHcamp is a fun, mindful and rewarding 80-minute Bootcamp style class, split in to three manageable and distinct sections that will improve strength and fitness - in body and mind. These sections are often based on our week day classes and, as per the SMASH London ethos, you will never know what to expect! We have many SMASHcamp sections that have been created in the past six months so the class will always feel different each time - just like attending SMASH London classes during the week!

What level of fitness do I need to be?

SMASH London is for everyone and we created SMASHcamp with that ethos in mind. This means that whether you are advanced or new to fitness, all we ask is that you give 100% of what you are capable of on that day - whatever that looks and feels like in that moment is absolutely perfect! We don't compare ourselves to anyone else, or what we have achieved in the past, so all of your focus is centred on getting the most from the session - in that moment. With no expectations, you will always leave stronger than when you entered - that's a guarantee!

Is it safe to train for 80 minutes?

We wouldn't recommend training for this long every day, but once or twice a week is safe and beneficial as long as you have a good programme to follow and are prepared. There are three distinct sections, so it feels like three shorter classes combined, and every SMASHcamp class is designed to challenge you and keep you safe. As with all classes, any medical conditions or injuries should be declared before the class starts so we can ensure your workout is perfect for you. SMASH London is all about Body and Mind. How is this helping my mental health?

Every SMASH London class is designed to strengthen mental health, and this includes SMASHcamp. The challenge of SMASHcamp alone is a great way to overcome mental barriers, and it will certainly take many people out of their comfort zone. Throughout the class we will touch on positive affirmations, especially those based on strength, determination and commitment. We always end every class with our mindful minute and, as coaches, we will fulfil our SMASH London promise of encouraging, motivating and inspiring you to be stronger, healthier and happier - in body and mind.

Will I enjoy SMASHcamp?

Our next SMASHcamp session is Saturday 23rd March, 9am. Anyone is welcome, including non-members of Fitness First, and the cost is £10 or £25 for three sessions (bookable for Discovery or SMASHcamp sessions before March 2020). If you haven't tried SMASHcamp before then your first session is £5. Come with an open mind, enthusiasm to build a stronger body and happier mind and see for yourself why SMASHcamp is proving to be one the most rewarding classes you can attend!
